With Competition From E-Commerce,Clothing Retailers Start Adopting High-End Technologies

With the rapidly increasing competition from e-commerce, several clothing retailers have started adopting high-end technologies, including easy-to-use apps with self-control facilities, to attract the customers and to reduce the cost of the ordinary retail stores.

A recent development in the field of brick and mortar stores is the virtual dressing room launched by 360Fashion Network, a fashion focused tech company which develops mobile and social tools to promote fashion brands.

Speaking to fibre2fashion, Ms. Anina Net, CEO of 360Fashion Network, said, “360Fashion Virtual Dressing Room uses augmented reality and it allows fashion brands to create an interactive experience anywhere.”

The augmented reality app provides shoppers with the facility to experiment different clothing on their body without changing their apparels through the virtual dressing room.

“Once the shopper enters into the virtual changing room and stands in front of the mirror, the person will see the 3D cloth appear on his/her body. The customer can also turn 360 degrees to view the clothing on their body from different directions,” she informs.

According to her, the virtual dressing room attracts shoppers to the garment stores in which they are fitted, since it consumes less time for them to choose appropriate apparels of their choice.

“The virtual dressing room is portable and it can be used after a fashion show to let buyers try on the runway clothes even though the physical items have not yet been produced,” she mentions.

Talking about the inspiration for developing the virtual dressing room, she says, “We love to empower fashion brands with good technology and our mission is to empower the fashion industry with affordable cutting edge mobile technology worldwide.”
