Matrix Packaging Machinery, a division of the US-based Pro Mach, will introduce a vertical form-fill-seal machine, Triton, which has been designed for the fresh produce packaging industry.
Available in two models, the Triton automated bagging machine will help fresh produce packers of all sizes and individual needs, lower labor costs and minimize waste, besides improving overall efficiency and throughput.
The machine is rated at cycle speeds up to 100 bags per minute in sizes ranging from a minimum of two inches wide by three inches long to 18 inches wide by 23 inches long.
According to the company, the machine's frame is made with 4 by 4 inch welded stainless steel. The unit comes with the Matrix Smart Jaw ST sealing system, automatic web edge guide film tracking, tool free film roll and forming tube changeover.
The bagging machine is available with a load shelf for heavier bags as well as a gas flushing system for modified atmosphere packaging (MAP).
Matrix will introduce the new machine at United Fresh, taking place from 14-16 May 2013, at the San Diego Convention Center.
