US-based HeartSine Technologies has appointed Declan O'Mahoney as the company's new chief executive officer (CEO).
Previously, O'Mahoney served as CEO at Firecomms, where he attracted major investments from Irish, European and Japanese venture capitalists and strategic partners and expanded the company's automotive, communications and medical device businesses.
O'Mahoney, from 1992-2002, served as co-founder and president of Northstar Systems, which provides custom design and manufacturing services for computing, consumer electronics.
HeartSine Technologies CEO Declan O'Mahoney said the company is recognized for the innovation embedded in its life-saving public access defibrillators.
"Today, the company is poised for rapid growth, with new products and new markets opening up," O'Mahoney added.
"I am very excited about how my new role at HeartSine can contribute to that growth."
HeartSine Technologies board of directors chairman Bernard Collins said, "Declan's energy and enthusiasm for the business will help drive us to expand our share of the automated external defibrillator (AED) market."
