The Worldwide PV Manufacturing Equipment Billings Billings Reached US$264 Million

SEMI has reported the worldwide PV manufacturing equipment billings billings reached US$264 million in the third quarter of 2014, down 17% on quarter but up 36% on year.

Worldwide PV manufacturing equipment bookings for the third quarter of 2014 were US$157 million, slipping 33% from the prior quarter but 71% higher than a year ago, according to SEMI.

The PV manufacturing equipment market remained below book-to-bill parity at 0.60 in the third quarter of 2014, SEMI said. The book-to-bill ratio fell to 0.73 in the second quarter of the year from 1.24 in the first.

On a regional basis, equipment billings in the third quarter of 2014 declined in all regions except Europe. Asia was still the largest regional market with more than 80% of total PV equipment billings, SEMI disclosed.

The worldwide PV equipment billings and bookings data is gathered jointly by SEMI and the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) from about 40 global equipment companies that provide data on a quarterly basis.
