TRM Packaging, a food and drink packaging manufacturer, has ordered for a new £3.2m, 82t Gopfert Impression seven color printing press.
The new press, which is being shipped from the Gopfert manufacturing plant in southern Germany to TRM in Lancashire at present, will enable the company to provide shelf-ready packaging to its retail as well as packer-filler clients.
TRM will reassemble and commission the machine before putting it into operation.
According to the company, the Gopfert Impression machine will feature a camera print registration control, full infra-red drying as well as the new Kleenplate technology.
TRM Packaging chief executive Trevor Maund said the latest investment in the new machinery will enable it to provide quality products to its existing clients.
"It allows us to deliver the quality only previously reached with pre-printed liner packaging or litho-laminated board but achieved in a single pass printed directly onto die-cut corrugated packaging," Maund added.
