As part of a strategy to take advantage of the trade agreement between Colombia and the European Union (EU), the Colombian agency for Promotion of Tourism, Investment and Exports (Proexport) will be organizing a multi-sector Business Matchmaking Forum in Frankfurt, Germany and Paris, France on October 22 and 24, 2013.
According to a statement issued by Proexport, the Colombian agency is conducting the forum with the intention of providing Colombian entrepreneurs the opportunity to leverage the free trade agreement that came into effect in August for various products, including apparel.
Maria Claudia Lacouture, president of Proexport, said the event scheduled to be held in Frankfurt and Paris, would see participation from over 250 European and Colombian companies, including apparel manufacturers.
The Business Matchmaking Forum is divided into two sessions. The first one will be held in Frankfurt on October 22nd with the attendance of 68 European buyers representing 59 companies from Germany, Spain, Holland, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Switzerland.
On October 24th, the forum will take place in Paris, where Colombian entrepreneurs would be able to do business with over 115 buyers of 89 companies from Spain, France, Holland, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.
According to Proexport, apparel exporters from Colombia will showcase products such as jeans, shapewear, sportswear, underwear, childrenswear, household linens, uniforms, shirts, t-shirts, and swimwear.
