Pro Mach subsidiary Allpax has launched new AllTrax basket tracking system for non-automated retort rooms.
AllTrax is a barcode-based system that will trace cans, jars, trays and pouches by basket through each critical checkpoint in the retort room.
After the verified processing by an individual retort, the system tags the packages.
The company has developed the new system to enhance security within the retort room and reduce the risk of product retort bypass. It can be incorporated into every non-automated retort operation.
Each basket is marked with a human readable number and a machine readable number, both in laser-etched stainless steel.
Scanning is said to positively identify each basket as it moves between loading, retorting, and unloading zones of the retort room
Software-based tracking system will cross check the positive identification.
According to the company, non-conforming actions are alerted and require authorized operator resolution to clear the alarm.
