Industrial Added Value Completed by Building Sanitary Ware Sector Has Increased by 20%

In May, 2011, the industrial completed added value of the building material sector increased by 27.7% compared with last May. From January to May, 2011, the industrial added value completed by building sanitary ware sector has increased by over 20%. From January to May, the total production volume of tiles in China is 3.24 billion square meters, an increased of 17.1% over last year. The major production areas _ Guangdong, Fujian and Shandong have produced 60% of the country's total volume. Specifically, the production volume of Guangdong is 830 million square meters, up 22.2%. The production volume in Fujian is 700 million, up 23.9%. Under the pressure of electricity power cut, the production in Shandong has dropped by 13.9%, reaching 420 million square meters. Besides, the new production areas in China's central region have displayed a strong increasing rate, and the provinces in this region Henan, Hubei and Jiangxi have increased their volume respectively by 130%, 67.5% and 26%. The central China is the main region that drives the increase in tile production in China. From January to May this year, the increase rate of tile output in this region is 52.1%, far more than the average increase rate of the eastern region (12.2%) and the western region (13.5%). In the first five months of 2011, the total output of sanitary ceramics in China is 60.62 million pieces, 4.1% more than that of last year.
