Sakar to Debut a Collection of Bally Total Fitness Wearable Technology

FAM Brands said its newest licensee, Sakar International Inc. plans to debut a collection of Bally Total Fitness wearable technology, fitness monitoring and electronic accessory products at the Consumer Electronics Show in early January. The products will reach stores during the secon quarter of 2015.

The line, which is priced to sell at retail for between $19.99 and $79.99, include bangle dot matrix Bluetooth activity tracker, heart rate monitors, Bluetooth activity trackers and an activity tracking watch. 

"We are very excited about debuting the Bally Total Fitness collection," said Liza Abrams, VP of licensing and marketing for Sakar, which is headquartered in Edison, NJ.  "Its prominent brand name and our products are well-matched and the success at retail is predicted to be enormous. We look forward to building this business together."

For 10 years FAM Brands has been manufacturing and marketing a very successful Bally Total Fitness women’s active wear collection, including tops, sports bras, bottoms, hoodies and more. In addition, FAM Brands has transitioned a successful license in hand-held fitness accessories in-house under its own fitness accessory division. Now, the company has plans to explore additional distribution channels and has licensed the brand to worthy companies in other categories and will continue to grow that roster. 

The strategy is to transform Bally Total Fitness into a multi-product mega brand.  FAM Brands has recently signed licensing deals for the production of Bally Total Fitness branded socks, swimwear and intimates with Cameo, EMD and American Glory respectively.  All those collections will ship to stores in early 2015. Several other deals are in the works and expected to be signed within the next few months as this brand expansion continues to flourish.
