US-based pharmaceutical and healthcare firm WebMD Health has introduced a new version of its iPhone application, which offers a personalized and an engaging multimedia lifestyle content.
The new app offers health information ranging from recipes and dieting tips to advice on sex and relationships, delivered in 'snackable' quantities, in addition to physician-reviewed health content and interactive tools.
WebMD chief technology officer and chief operating officer Bill Pence said, "The new design of the WebMD app builds on the success we have had with personalizing experiences with our audience-based apps, such as WebMD Pregnancy and WebMD Baby, to provide consumers with an experience that is tailored uniquely to them."
Updated features of the app include customizable content based on the user's interests and goals; local search for health care providers, including finding closest physicians, hospitals and pharmacies by city, state or ZIP code.
The app also provides enhanced health information and patient instructions that allow doctors and healthcare professionals to send information and instructions on thousands of conditions, procedures and drugs to their patients.
