Google Earth is now available in virtual reality, which is comfortably the coolest thing to happen today.
The beloved globe-exploring software can be downloaded from the Steam Store today for use on the HTC Vive.
The high-end headset has first dibs, but Google is rolling out the platform to other headsets from next year.
In a post on the Google blog the company explained Vive owners will be able to use the handheld remote to effortlessly “fly over a city, stand at the top of the highest peaks, and even soar into space.”
"Earth VR comes with cinematic tours and hand-picked destinations that send you to the Amazon River, the Manhattan skyline, the Grand Canyon, the Swiss Alps, and more."
