US-based personal beverage system provider Keurig Green Mountain has added two new cocktail mixer brands, expanding its Keurig Kold beverage product line for the holiday season.
Rita's & Tina's and Union St. Lounge are the new brands which will be available on the company's website starting 19 November. The two brands are developed to suit the home needs of relaxation and entertainment while delivering flexibility with margarita and mojito beverage mixers, fresh-made, cold, and also enjoyable with a choice of spirit.
The Rita's & Tina's brand comes with a Classic Margarita Kold pod cocktail mixer, holding 40 calories prior to the addition of the spirits.
The Union St. Lounge brand features classic varieties of ingredients and launches with a Kold pod mixer to create a Mojito. The process entails placing the pod into the Keurig Kold drinkmaker to make Mojito mix into a glass. The cold, carbonated beverage is made without the use of carbon dioxide canister. The company suggests an addition of white rum to it for enhanced flavor.
Keurig Kold senior vice president Tara Murphy said: "Keurig KOLD makes in-home bartending and entertaining so simple and easy with ready-on-demand, precisely crafted cold, non-alcoholic cocktail mixers. From refreshing, light sparkling waters to craft sodas to iced teas and now, perfectly blended cold cocktail mixers, Keurig KOLD brings cold beverage spontaneity and variety to your home and all your holiday gatherings."
Keurig Kold cocktail mixer pods are alcohol-free and instead are designed to provide a blended base for cocktail recipes which can complement several spirits, garnishes and twists that users can add based on their preferred choice. The Kold pod features potioned ingredients to ensure that the cocktails are prepared in a hassle-free, time-saving manner, the company claims.
Launched in September, Keurig Kold is a beverage system which allows consumers to make a wide range of fresh cold sparkling and still beverages at home with a push of a button. The move was intended to a move to offset the decline in its core business of single-serve coffee pods and brewers and wrest marketshare from rival SodaStream.
The home soda fountain works with Kold Pods, which will cost between $4.49 and $4.99.
The pods, which come in a four-pack, include carbon dioxide beads. Moreover, the machine can chill beverages to almost freezing point in just 19 seconds.
Keurig Kold works across a broad range of beverage categories like zero-calorie flavored seltzers, iced teas, flavored waters, craft sodas, sports hydration drinks, and now cocktail mixers. It also makes beverage brands from The Coca-Cola Company and Dr Pepper Snapple Group.
