Yoga, Cookies and cake topped the bill of last week’s Board Game Club as the nomadic adult gaming evening celebrated its second birthday in London.
Radio One presenter Matt Edmondson was on hand to showcase his latest gaming title, still currently in development among a crowd of game inventors and toy industry bods.
Coiledspring’s Yoga Spinner was named ‘Top Game of the Night’ alongside Iello Games’ Me Want Cookies and Game of Things, while the anniversary of the gaming evening was celebrated with a specially-themed cake.
“This second year has flown by, we’re certainly well established on the board game scene and worked with more brands than ever before, with some great success stories to tell,” said Lesley Singleton, co-founder and MD of Playtime PR.
The Every Hotel in Piccadilly also housed vocal rounds of Big Potato’s latest addition Obama Llama, a celebrity rhyming title that made second place on the John Lewis sales list of board games for 2015.
“Plenty of inventors were in attendance to talk with keen gamers and distributors and get invaluable feedback. Above all though, people turned out to have a good play and catch up with industry colleagues,” said Singleton.
Co-founder of Board Game Club, Peter Jenkinson, added: “It’s such a grin inducing evening, you have simply got to try it once.”
