US-based advanced coatings developer Ecology Coatings announced its patent-pending GRAS (generally recognized as safe) coating technology will be presented at the RadTech UV&EB 2012 Technology & Expo Conference on 1 May 2012 and at the Food Packaging Technologies Summit on 9 May 2012.
The World Intellectual Property Organization considered the GRAS application to be unique, whose patent is pending in Europe, Canada and the US.
GRAS technology offers grease resistance, direct food contact, matting agent and a pigment extender.
Ecology has also partnered with FlexPacknology for business development with food packaging firms.
According to the firm, cleantech ultra-violet curable coatings enable firms to enhance the performance of the products and cut down energy costs.
