Astro-Med’s business unit QuickLabel Systems has signed a marketing agreement with Innovatum to promote each other's products.
Together, the US-based companies will promote color UDI label printing solution comprising QuickLabel's Kiaro! inkjet color label printer and Innovatum's ROBAR enterprise label printing software, under the new partnership.
According to Innovatum, the combined system is expected to minimize costs by providing validated, UDI enabled labeling in color, and is beneficial to medical device manufacturers.
QuickLabel Systems vice president and general manager Eric Pizzuti said the end-to-end label design, management, and printing solution ROBAR labeling software can also accelerate a manufacturer's 'go-live' date by several months.
"Pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers will reduce costs and save time with our combined solution for printing UDI compliant labels in color," Pizzuti said.
The agreement comes as medical device manufacturers move to conform in advance of the new FDA Unique Device Identification (UDI) label regulation which requires a label on each product.
