eBay Has Banned Slave Toys Based on Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained Movie

eBay has banned slave toys based on Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained movie.

Auction listings have been removed and eBay has cautioned sellers not to re-list the items, reports TMZ.com.

The news comes after The Weinstein Company, which produced the film, discontinued the official toys following complaints from several African American advocacy groups.

Prices for the collectables soon surged on eBay, before the auction site stepped in and banned them.

"Since the manufacturer of this product has discontinued the item’s sale due to its potentially offensive nature, we are not allowing it to be sold on eBay," read an eBay statement.

"[The toys] were removed as they were in violation of our Offensive Materials policy."
