With a kick-off event that was a success across the board and so far the biggest of its kind, VIEW Premium Selection opened the season Autumn.Winter 15/16 for fabrics, denim and sportswear plus accessories at Munich’s Transport Museum last Tuesday and Wednesday. In addition to an extremely positive response to the new choice of venue the high visitor turnout at the trade fair with a significant 83% increase has made it perfectly clear: the fashion sector has been looking forward to this early information and inspiration platform as much as ever.
Bright sunshine accentuated the high spirits and pleasant working atmosphere prevailing throughout the new venue where the carefully curated, extended portfolio of 300 high-quality PreCollections was presented on 15 and 16 July. This means that its unabated appeal for international brands has confirmed VIEW Premium Selection as the official kick-off to the season in the European trade fair calendar. Designed as a “preview textile fair concept” of MUNICH FABRIC START, VIEW offers the international apparel industry at this early point in time a unique and inspiring selection of ranges.
Over the two trade fair days, the ranges again attracted to Munich numerous buyers and designers working for renowned and globally operating brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Cain, Hugo Boss, Lagerfeld, Akris, René Lezard, Strellson, MAC, Calvin Klein, Schumacher and OUI, to name but a few. For the first time now the extended denim and sportswear segment also brought well-established producers like Brax, Alberto, Gardeur, Marc O’Polo and Camel Active to the première at the Munich Transport Museum.
The portfolio covered by VIEW forms the basis for a comprehensive orientation and initial browsing of the coming Autumn/Winter collections. “The trends for our collections are “born” here in Munich, there’s no doubt about that. Particularly so because the big international fabric fairs for high-end ready-to wear are quite late. At this early point in time you do come with ideas but there is also still enough room for inspirations that give us a fresh perspective on the new season,” says Andrea Evert of Laurèl. Some visitors also used the trade fair to place orders for inbetween/ flash lines in addition to the new collections.
For exhibitors the first presentation at VIEW in Munich is not least of particular importance due to the strong German market and the vivid retail landscape. Here they can present themselves in a high-end setting early on and optimally serve key accounts from the German-speaking region and neighbouring European states at one and the same place.
