The OnePlus 2 has already been confirmed by the company itself, but now rumours have emerged concerning the phone's specs and release date.
Back in September, during a Reddit AMA, OnePlus's Carl and David confirmed that "OnePlus 2 should be out in Q2 or Q3 of 2015."
Now a new report from MobileBurn states that Q3 is the more likely launch window for the follow-up to the in-demand (but incredibly elusive) OnePlus One.
According to a OnePlus One reseller, the OnePlus 2 will receive a fairly modest bump to its specs. It'll have a Snapdragon 805 CPU (the OnePlus One has a Snapdragon 801) and 3GB of RAM (the same as the One), with 32GB of internal storage.
The OnePlus 2 will apparently have a 5.5-inch display, which is the same size as the OnePlus One's. Still, we wouldn't want it any bigger, and there's no news on whether it'll be a Quad HD display or not. We would expect so.
In addition, the OnePlus 2 will apparently have a 16-megapixel rear camera compared to the One's 13-megapixel unit. Its 5-megapixel front camera appears unchanged, at least on paper.
Perhaps the most disappointing claimed spec here, though, is the OnePlus 2's price. Apparently, it'll receive a $100 bump to $400.
That's still a bit of a bargain - particularly if that 5.5-inch display is QHD, as suspected - but it would carry the phone out of the £220 impulse buy territory of its predecessor if true.
