Readymade garment makers in Bangladesh will pay festival bonus and a part of current month's salary to their employees prior to the Eid-ul-Azha on October 27.
Normally,workers in Bangladeshi garment units receive their salaries during the first week of every month.
This time,union leaders had demanded a full month's salary to be paid in advance by October 20,in view of the Eid festival.But,after consultation with the representatives of the unions,garment unit owners have decided to pay a part of the workers'October salary by October 24,the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association(BGMEA)said.
