INX International Ink has unveiled plans to expand its research and development (R&D) complex in West Chicago, US.
Expected to be operational in July 2018, the facility will be added with 32,000ft² of space to increase the space to 56,000ft².
The company also opened a new manufacturing facility in Lebanon of Ohio in 2015, while expanded the metal decorating plant in Charlotte of North Carolina in 2016.
In addition, the firm increased the size of an existing manufacturing facility in Edwardsville of Kansas at the starting of this year.
INX R&D sourcing senior vice president said: “We have experienced sales growth and production in many areas, and a major reason for this expansion is our commitment to global digital efforts.
“A large portion is being dedicated to growing and supporting digital products across all product lines, as well as expanding our Energy Curable technologies.”
INX produces a range of ink and coating solutions for commercial, packaging and digital print applications.
The company’s product solutions include metal decorating, flexographic, gravure, web offset, lamination, corrugated, sheetfed, inkjet and UV/EB inks and coatings.
Its inks and specialized coatings can be used in commercial and digital printing, as well as paper, flexible and rigid packaging applications.
The firm also produces a full palette of digital ink systems for alternative OEM, industrial and custom print applications.
