Participation in the Shanghai home textiles trade fair has opened new doors of opportunities for Turkish textile companies, according to Abraham Burkay, president of Uludag Textile Exporters Union (UTIB) of Turkey.
According to a statement issued by UTIB, Mr. Burkay said, the ‘Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2013’ fair held in Shanghai has not only provided opportunities for textile companies in China, but has also extended those opportunities to various countries including Turkey.
According to UTIB, around 43 textile companies from Turkey participated in the event, of which 12 companies displayed their products at the fair.
Mr. Burkay said Shanghai’s prestigious exhibition opened a door which would provide a significant increase in new export sales to China and other Far East Asian countries.
The Turkish companies which exhibited their products at the fair also managed to generate great interest from various international firms and this has also resulted into new business connections for these textile companies, he added.
According to UTIB, a total of 1,321 textile companies from over 31 countries participated in the Shanghai home textiles fair.
