Germany based truck and trailer parts maker, Jost Group is planning to buy Mercedes-Benz TrailerAxleSystems from Daimler.
Mercedes-Benz TrailerAxleSystems manufactures axles for commercial vehicles and it could complement Jost Group's products.
Mercedes-Benz TrailerAxleSystems' parent company Daimler is presently looking for cost cuts up to €1.6 bn at its trucks division by the end of the year.
The acquisition is expected to be a part of the private-equity owner's strategy that is designed to put Jost onto a more international footing, ahead of a potential stock market listing.
Reuters reported Jost Chief Executive Lars Brorsen saying: "With the integration of Mercedes-Benz TrailerAxleSystems we could offer our clients a significantly expanded product portfolio."
Mercedes-Benz has not confirmed the reports about the acquisition yet.
