The Department of Trade and Industry Region IV-A has provided Muscovado Sugar Packaging Machine (Automatic Granular Packaging Machine) for the Magallanes Women’s Club Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MAWCO).
As part of the DTI's 'Shared Service Facilities' (SSF) Project, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) has been signed between the parties.
The project will provide processing and/or manufacturing equipment for the common use of MSMEs within the identified industry clusters, and is aimed at addressing the gaps and bottlenecks in the value chain of priority clusters.
It is DTI's Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative, which will be implemented through private sector partners.
Under the agreement, MAWCO will manage the automatic granular packaging machine and provide facilities to house the machinery.
DTI-IV-A will take up the responsibility to monitor and evaluate the operations of the facility, in terms of its production and financial condition especially including additional technical support to manage and operate it sustainably in accordance with SSF's objectives.
