PPG Debuts PPG One Series of Single-Component Coatings

PPG Industries’ protective and marine coatings (PMC) business has introduced the PPG ONE Series, a collection of three individual coatings products developed to provide industrial-level protection in an easy-to-use, one-component  package. The three PPG ONE Series products include:

AMERCOAT ONE coating, a true single-component epoxy with the corrosion resistance of a two-component epoxy; PSX ONE coating, a single-component, isocyanate-free acrylic-siloxane coating that unites the performance, color and finish quality of a high-durability urethane with the easy application of a single-component product; and SIGMADUR ONE coating, which delivers the durability, colorfastness and gloss retention of a traditional two-component urethane in a one-component package. As one-component coatings, PPG ONE Series products eliminate the pot-life issues associated with two-component coatings. That means they can be reopened and reused as long as container lids are properly resealed after each application, significantly reducing waste and related costs.

Diane Kappas, PPG vice president, protective and marine coatings, Americas, said that in addition to providing the convenience and cost and time savings of a premixed, one-component coating, PPG ONE Series products deliver performance that equals or exceeds that of conventional two-component products.

“PPG ONE Series coatings use unique curing reactions, and PPG’s formulas make them durable, affordable and easy to apply,” she explained. “With their excellent color and gloss stability and exceptional corrosion resistance, these coatings aren’t just designed for convenience. They also are engineered to offer world-class protection of assets in difficult environments and to provide a wide range of aesthetic options.”
