OMsignal, the Montreal smart apparel startup, began shipping the first edition of its Biometric Smartwear to pre-order customers and launched its iOS app in the Apple App Store.
The Smartwear compression shirts and iOS app work in tandem to allow users to take control of their health and fitness routines by informing them with data to work out smarter and live better, said the company, which raised $10 million in June to ramp up production and marketing of biometric apparel.
The OMsignal Biometric Smartwear is the first fitness wear collection of its kind, designed to give real-time data showing heart rate, breathing, activity levels, and wellness insights. The fibers in the shirt actually monitor your body’s unique signals, send them to the module attached to the shirt (our Little Black Box), which then sends them to your iOS powered device.
The new OMsignal iOS app instantly summarizes and visualizes all of this data, making it easy for users to monitor their body's performance and adjust their workout. The app also saves user data for later analysis, including comparison with past sessions.
