Japanese New Ship Export Orders in January This Year Decreased by 26.02 Percent

According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters' Association (JSEA), Japanese new ship export orders in January this year decreased by 26.02 percent on tonnage basis compared to December, amounting to 26 ships compared to 44 ships recorded in December, totaling 1.43 million gross tons, consisting of six general cargos, 15 bulk carriers and five tankers. In January 2013, Japan's new ship export orders had totaled 10 ships with 527,525 gross tons.

Meanwhile, in January this year, Japan delivered 30 ships totaling 1.20 million gross tons for export, increasing from 11 ships totaling 565,705 gross tons recorded in December last year.
