toyota Motor Sales eported 17.2%increase in its November 2012 sales to 161,695 units,compared to the same period in 2011.
The Toyota Division's sales rose by 17.3%to 138,976 units in November 2012,compared to the same period last year.
The Lexus Division sales grew by 16.8%to 22,719 units in November 2012,compared to the same period prior year.
Toyota Division passenger cars'sales increased 16.5%to 76,993 units in November 2012 while Lexus passenger car sales rose by 18.2%to 12,460 units.
Toyota Division group vice president and general manager Bill Fay said that replacement of vehicles damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Sandy is partially responsible for strong sales.?
"However,pent up demand,record low finance rates and exciting new products are also driving demand,"Fay said.
"Approximately 40 percent of the vehicles we sell this year will be all-new or significantly updated models."
