ctrade show was visited by more than 21,600 people, 6.55% more than the September 2012 edition, an important signal of a comeback from the negative performance of the sector in the first few months of this year.
Once again, the high number of international visitors (+14%) demonstrated the added value of Milano Unica. However, Italian visitors were also more numerous (+3%). For the second consecutive time, after this past February’s show, there was a growth in the number of both visitors and companies.
Significant increases, in terms of both percentage and numbers, were registered by the following countries: Great Britain (+69%), Belgium (+31%), USA (+28%), the Russian Federation (+26%), Sweden (+25%), South Korea (+22%), France (+21%), China (+14%) and Japan (+4%).
Important signals that the Italian textile sector is bouncing back after a poor first half in 2013, countering the slowdown of the past few months.
“The increased attendance– according to the President of Milano Unica, Silvio Albini–is definitely the most positive aspect. The higher number of buyers from our best foreign markets, which had been a source of preoccupation for us in recent years, is an important sign that there is light at the end of the tunnel, that the end of the crisis is near. The signal was made even more encouraging by the presence of buyers from new markets, like China, where the show will open in little more than a month.”
