The authentic couture extravaganza of the season the PCJ Delhi Couture Week in association with Audi, starting from July 31-Aug 4, at the Taj Palace hotel, is set to make waves with two magnificent couturiers Anju Modi and Sabyasachi Mukherjee presenting their resplendent collections on the opening day.

The five-day gala will regale with the most distinguished style gurus gearing up for the fourth edition of this much-awaited couture event.

Cutting edge designs, trend setting ideas and ingenuity is the hallmark of the coveted names, who will be presenting their exquisite couture lines on this grand arena. Haute Couture in India has an enviable past where each garment was hand sewn, crafted painstakingly and made-to-measure for the Maharajas, Nawabs and Mughals known for their fine taste.

Announcing the participation of an impressive line-up of designers, Sunil Sethi, President, Fashion Design Council of India, said, “Anju Modi and Sabyasachi are the most sought-after designers in the country with a huge fan following.

"Their shows are a visual treat for the discerning fashion fraternity. As the only couture week of the country we wanted to focus on giving an opportunity to the best in the business who can channel their creativity and craftsmanship to create unforgettable luxury. We are certain both these designers will give a perfect impetus to the week.”

Kolkata’s wonder boy Sabyasachi, known to be a path-breaker said, "I always look forward to showcasing at the Delhi Couture Week and a show on the opening night makes it even more special. It is a great platform that celebrates Indian craftsmanship and I am excited about this amazing opportunity.”

Anju Modi said, “I feel honoured as it is a privilege to open the PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2013. This season, my collection takes inspiration from Indian mythology. Draupadi, the epicenter of Mahabharata – remains the central idea for the strong woman I wish to portray. The qualities she epitomises in the form of Agnijyotsna, are in harmony with my presentation.”
