Arduino Was Put on a Wireless Network by Radio Firm

Short-range radio specilaist LPRS has introduced a stacked module that allows Arduino boards to communicate wirelessly with other Arduino boards or PC hosts.

The system uses the suppliera's easyRadio technology operating in the 868-915MHz ISM band, and host Arduino boards can send and receive up to 180 bytes of half-duplex data per packet.

There is no need for any complicated a bit balancinga or elaborate coding schemes.Addressing and implementation of wireless networking(point-to-point and peer-to-peer)can be handled by Arduino application software proving providing flexibility without sacrificing simplicity of operation, said the supplier.

The LPRS eRA-Arduino-S900 has a range of 200m and is designed to be lower power than similar 2.4GHz WiFi or Bluetooth devices.

The eRA900TRS wireless module provides the wireless serial interface as a COM port.No complex RF protocol software is required to create an instant bidirectional link.

Measuring 68.5 x 50 x 10mm the eRA-ARDUINO-S900 Wireless Arduino Shield is powered by the host Arduinoas 5V,consuming 25/35mA in idle/transmit.

An integral SMA antenna connector allows for use of an off-board antenna.Transmit and Receive LEDs are provided to confirm communication operation.

Other features include a digital RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication),no need for host to handle A/D measurement and temporary channel selection allows host to scan other channels in real time.
