JBT Foodtech Acquired The Rotary Sterilization Technology for an Undisclosed Amount

JBT FoodTech, owned by JBT, an American food processing machinery provider has acquired the rotary sterilization technology from South Africa-based H.G. Molenaar for an undisclosed amount.

JBT said that the acquisition enables the company to reinforce its in-container sterilization portfolio for the canned food industry.

JBT FoodTech food processing systems division vice president and division manager Steve Smith said that Molenaar's can handling technology featuring large capacity cooker/coolers will align with JBT's existing product portfolio.

"We can now offer our global customers an even broader range of solutions tailored to their specific processing needs," Smith said.

JBT plans to integrate Molenaar technology into its existing South African production facility initially to boost the current capacity and engineering capabilities.

JBT designs, manufactures, tests and services technological advanced systems and products for industrial food processing customers through its JBT FoodTech segment and JBT AeroTech segment. It operates in about 25 countries globally.

H.G. Molenaar is involved in manufacturing and distribution of large-scale equipment for the food and beverage industry.
