Whole Foods Has Released a New Labeling System That Can Identify Health Foods

US-based super market chain Whole Foods has launched a new labeling system, which is capable of identifying health foods within store locations.

According to Food Navigator USA, the newly introduced color coded system will rate the food according to healthiness. Under the system, the foods are given a green, yellow or orange sticker to indicate the level of healthiness in the product.

The items will be evaluated by sugar and sweetener content, amount of whole grains, animal product content, calories and saturated fat and thee items which do not meet healthy eating requirements will not be labeled.

Whole Foods Market is a chain of grocery stores with 331 locations in the U.S. It focuses on providing natural and organic food products. The company was founded by John Mackey in 1980 out of Austin, Texas. It has nearly 60,000 employees.
