Specialty paper firm Munksj is constructing a new storage center at its facility in Rottersac, France, to enable on-site storage for facilitating logistic flows, and house a customer service wing for Europe.
The center, which will be developed over 9,100m2, will allow the firm to store all of its production on-site, thus cutting down carbon emission and leading to an enhanced packaging quality.
The Rottersac unit manufactures specialty papers to cater to food and non-food flexible packaging, repositionable notes and envelop windows, among others. These papers find their utility in activities, such as, baking, packaging of sweets and cheese.
Munksj's Rottersac mill manager Thierry Chassagne said: "These initiatives and investments translate the willingness of the Group to support activities and dynamism of the Rottersac Mill. Developing new products, improving quality and customer service are vital to maintain a leading market position in a very competitive environment."
A new customer service center for the European region is expected to improve Munksj's efficiency with a categorization of one hub per business area.
Munksj Group, which has 15 units across France, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Spain, Brazil and China, upgraded the facility with new equipment in 2014.
Two coating surface designs -- size press and film press -- were installed during the upgrade to facilitate coating of a single specification on both the sides of a paper.
