An implant to do blood tests has been developed by the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne. The implant beams its findings back by Bluetooth to a mobile phone.
Researchers say it will be useful for providing continuous tracking of cholesterol, blood glucose, diabetes and the results of drug treatments.
The device is half an inch long and is inserted using a needle into the interstitial tissue under skin.
