The stainless steel producer Aperam released its financial result for the second quarter and the first half of 2013.
Aperam posted a net loss of US$11 million for the second quarter of this year, in comparison of US$28 million in the same quarter of 2012. In the given quarter, the company realized sales of US$1.36 billion, up by 1.1% year on year.
Meanwhile, the company’s steel shipments rose by 3.9% year on year to 450,000 tons in the second quarter. Also, its EBITDA surged to US$81 million from US$66 million in the same quarter of 2012.
In the first half of this year, the company’s net loss totaled US$39 million, in comparison a net loss of US$40 million in the same period of 2012.
In the given period of time, its sales totaled US$2.63 billion, falling by 4.5% year on year. Its steel shipments totaled 851,000 tons, decreasing by 4.5% year on year.
