In January this year, the seasonally and working-day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing industry increased by three percent compared to December, according to the preliminary data reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). The working day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing sector in January this year increased by 6.7 percent compared to January 2013.
In January of the current year, the turnover of German metal and metal product manufacturing decreased by 4.5 percent from December, indicating the largest month-on-month decrease in turnover in the given month among other manufacturing segments in Germany, with domestic sales decreasing by 7.3 percent, while foreign sales remaining unchanged, month on month. In January, an increase of 3.8 percent was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products in Germany, with domestic sales increasing six percent and foreign sales down by 0.6 percent, both compared to the previous month.
