According to data released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance, the country’s exports of hot rolled (HR) steel flat products totaled 1.29 million tons in May, rising by 3.8% from a month ago and increasing by 3.5% year on year. In the first five months of this year, Japan’s exports of HR steel flats amounted to 6.6 million tons, increasing by 18.6% year on year. In the given period of time, Korea was the largest importer of Japanese HR steel flats with 1.5 million tons, decreasing by 10.3%; Thailand was the second largest one with 727,493 tons, falling by 3.3% and China was the third largest one with 627,345 tons, increasing by 8.2%, all compared to the figures in the same period of a year ago. |
