In February of The Current Year Motor Vehicle Sales in The Country Saw a Decline of 26%

In the first two months of this year, motor vehicle sales in Turkey totaled 71,790 units, decreasing by 18 percent year on year, according to the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD). Meanwhile, in February of the current year motor vehicle sales in the country saw a decline of 26 percent compared to the same month of 2013, totaling 37,502 units.

In the January-February period this year, passenger car sales in Turkey amounted to 51,535 units, decreasing by 18 percent year on year. In February, passenger car sales rose by 26 percent year on year to 37,502 units.

On the other hand, in the first two months of this year Turkey's motor vehicle exports came to 120,711 units, down seven percent, while its passenger car exports amounted to 82,459 units, up 20 percent, both year on year. The country exported 33,133 small trucks in the period in question, down 40 percent year on year. Revenues from total motor vehicle and component exports in the first two months amounted to $3.50 billion, rising by six percent, while the revenue from passenger car exports totaled $1.09 billion, rising by eight percent, both on year-on-year basis.

On the other hand, in the first two months this year, Turkey's passenger car imports decreased by 19 percent to 38,730 units, while total motor vehicle imports amounted to 47,764 units, down 18 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
