According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the country's manufacturing output in August this year increased 0.3 percent compared to July.
In August, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, improved by 1.8 percent, following a month-on-month growth of 0.9 percent in July, the production of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by 19.5 percent, after a 12.6 percent month-on-month fall recorded in the previous month, while the output of the construction industry saw a slight increase of 1.1 percent in August, following a decline of 0.3 percent in July compared to June, all compared to the previous month.
In the June-August quarter, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 0.9 percent, while production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry declined by five percent, both compared to the previous quarter. In June-August, the output of the construction industry in France saw a two percent growth quarter on quarter.
