11, 200 Scion Iq Cars in Us Are Recalled by Toyota

Automaker Toyota is recalling 11,200 Scion iQ cars in the US due to a problem with sensor cables.

The recall affects both 2012 and 2013 iQ microcars and the company said that no crashes or injuries have been reported relating to the problem.

The sensor cables are part of the safety system that deploys airbags and seat belt pretensioners.

According to the company, the sensors are present in the seat assembly and the cables for these sensors can come into contact with foreign objects such as loose coins or trash and become damaged.

The safety system may not operate properly if the vehicle is damaged in the crash.

Toyota said that it would install protective covers on weight sensors in the front passenger seat to fix the problem.

The company introduced the Scion iQ, also known as the Toyota iQ, in the US markets in mid 2011.

In October 2012, Toyota recalled 7.43 million vehicles, including Camry and Corolla models as well as other Scion models due to a possible fire risk.
