Interior components manufacturer Toyota Boshoku Corporation has started production of seats and other interior components for the Toyota Corolla, in Changchun, China through Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor.
Changchun Faway Toyota Boshoku Auto Parts, a manufacturing joint venture (JV) between Changchun FAWAY Automobile Components and Toyota Boshoku, has started production of the interior parts.
The JV also produces Toyota Corolla door trim, floor carpets and luggage area trim for delivery to the new Changchun plant of Sichuan FAW Toyota, which began operations in May 2012.
Toyota Boshoku holds a 60% share in the JV, while rest is held by Changchun FAWAY Automobile Components.
The 53,000sq m facility has a production capacity of 100,000 units per year.
