Ahead of the 14th round of onshore oil and gas licensing, environmental firm SLR Consulting has joined forces with leading global law firm, Eversheds, to host a seminar on the key environmental and planning issues associated with Shale Gas and Coal Bed Methane developments in the UK.
The free half day event, titled: ‘Preparing for the 14th be held at Evershed’s London HQ on 27 January 2014.
Experts from both firms in Law, Planning, Permitting, Environmental issues, Environmental Impact Assessment and Community Liaison, will present a review of key issues in line with current and prospective legal and stakeholder requirements.
SLR Technical Director, Tony Smith, said: “Our experience in advising on shale gas exploration in the UK indicates that prospective licence holders not only need to address Planning, Permitting and Environmental issues but also need be aware of how important securing a social licence to operate is. This seminar will examine how these components can significantly affect the recovery factor from Gas In Place assessments and the impact they can have on key strategic and financial decisions for licence application and management.”
