Russian pipe producer TMK has announced that it has fully completed in line with its contract the delivery of large diameter pipes for the Central Asia-China gas pipeline project.
Within the framework of its contract, in the January-September period this year TMK shipped more than 100,000 mt of longitudinal welded pipes with diameter of 1,219 mm and wall thickness of 17.5 mm, with a three-layer polyethylene external coating and internal surface coating. The products are produced by Volzhsky Pipe Plant according to API 5L standard. Pipes are delivered to Kazakhstan and designed for the construction of the third line of the gas pipeline.
The Central Asia-China gas pipeline connects large natural gas fields in Central Asia with the gas transportation system of China. The gas pipeline includes two lines from the field in Samandep in Turkmenistan via Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Its total length exceeds 7,000 km, including 188 km in Turkmenistan, 560 km in Uzbekistan, 1,300 km in Kazakhstan, and 5,000 km in China. The construction of the third line started in 2012.
