The US flooring group Mohawk Industries is to acquire the Pergo European and North American laminate flooring operations from Pfleiderer. The share deal encompasses Pergo LLC and Pergo AB as well as patent rights pooled in Pergo’s Intellectual Property division. An agreement inked between Pfleiderer and Mohawk in early October took effect on 29 October after approval from banks involved with Pfleiderer and Pergo. The purchase price was set at US$150m or about? 116m at the current exchange rate. The transaction is to close at the end of the first quarter of 2013 at the latest following approval by anti-trust authorities and once closing conditions have been met. Source: euwid-wood-products
