Travel and specialty insurance provider Allianz Global Assistance has signed an agreement to offer its products to global travel search company Kayak users who book flights and rental cars.
Under the terms of the accord, travelers booking flights and rental cars on Kayak.com in the US will be offered to purchase the insurance products.
Allianz Global Assistance will provide insurance products that reimburse pre-paid, non-refundable travel costs when a trip is canceled for a covered reason to Kayak users.
Allianz Travel Insurance helps travelers protect their travel investment as well as provide 24/7 travel assistance for a medical or other travel-related emergency.
To generate appropriate travel insurance offers to customers during the check-out process, Kayak's user experience has been integrated with Allianz Global Assistance's next-generation Fusion platform.
Allianz Global Assistance USA CEO Mike Nelson said that Allianz Global Assistance will append travel insurance and assistance products to Kayak's flight and car rental services.
"Kayak helps travelers easily find and book great travel products," Nelson added.
