Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN), Brazil-based ore mining company and steelmaker released its financial result for the third quarter of this year. CSN posted a net profit of BRL503 million for the third quarter of this year, jumping from BRL159 million in the same period of 2012. Its net revenues totaled BRL4.66 billion, soaring by 23.2% year on year, driven by increased revenues from its mining operations. Meanwhile, the revenues from its steel operation totaled BRL3.2 billion in the third quarter, rising by 9.6% year on year and the highest-ever quarterly figure, boosted by increased prices. CSN stated that it produced 1.31 million tons of crude steel in the third quarter, up by 1.6% year on year. In the given period of time, its production of rolled steel products totaled 1.15 million tons, falling by 1.4% year on year.
