About 100 students take pump classes at ITC each year. The objective is to deepen the students’ understanding of pump structures and to learn how to control the pumps, using real pumps during the classes.
Around 90 university students and 25 people from government agencies and the private sector attended a seminar on pumps at ITC on 24–25 February 2016. One of the seminar’s lectures focused on the basics of pumps and pump sites that are used for water service facilities. At the end of the seminar, Ebara presented the pumps that were used to the ITC. For many years, Ebara has sought to deepen mutual understanding around the world through international cooperation, including technical guidance. Since the Ebara Hatakeyama Memorial Fund (EHMF) was set up in 1989, Ebara has held more than 250 seminars around the world, with over 11 000 attendees. Five seminars were held in FY2015. Ebara is planning to continue to contribute to the development of Southeast Asian countries through international cooperation activities such as technical seminars, rather than by just providing products and services including pumps.
