BioClinica, a provider of clinical trial management services, has introduced an electronic data transfer solution.
The WebSend solution is a medical image submission technology for collecting and managing medical images for clinical trials.
The solution, which integrates with BioClinica's image management system BioPACS, also offers many capabilities that improve data quality and reduce cost including protected health information (both meta-data and pixel data) that removes prior to image submission.
Other capabilities include protocol deviations that are fully documented before images leave the investigator site, both DICOM and non-DICOM image data is supported through one system, browser-based DICOM viewer for both web-submitted and couriered images, claims the company.
BioClinica CEO Mark Weinstein said electronic image submission is the best way to ensure data quality and reduce the cost of imaging-based clinical trials.
"When an image is uploaded via WebSend, it automatically becomes part of BioClinica's integrated image management and independent review system," Weinstein added.
"There are no manual steps, data entries, or transfers required. Best of all, sponsors have immediate access to their images through BioClinica's secure web portal."
