Fu Chun Shin Machinery Manufacture Co., a veteran manufacturer of plastic injection molding machines, recently said it has NT$1.2 billion in backlogged orders, which will help boost shipments in the second quarter of this year. The company says the orders include the NT$200 million orders for 127 medium- and small-sized plastic injection molding machines for an electronics firm in Thailand, NT$110 million orders for 13 dual-color injection molding machines for an automobile assembly plant in China, and NT$100 million orders for seven machines for food-packaging plants in China and Japan. After experiencing slowing sales in January due to the Chinese lunar New Year holidays, the company has seen sales growth in February with shipments going to manufacturers of transportation vehicles in Taiwan and Southeast Asia. The company scored NT$205 million in consolidated sales in February, up 34.11% year-on-year and up 13.44% from the preceding month, to which its Taiwan headquarters contributed NT$156 million, up 29.87% year-on-year and up 24.09% from the preceding month. Faced with the influx of orders, Fu Chun Shin`s main plant in Tainan City of southern Taiwan and a subordinate plant in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, China are working shifts to boost production.
