We drive, we sit at our desks, we work out in the gym to replace the excercise that we would have normally gotten during the day, yet electrical consumption is at a high. So why not use our extra human physical energy to power the everyday items around us?

In this case it has amounted to an award winning design by ZhongrenZhang – CITYLIGHT. A new concept like this with a primary focus on energy efficiency, electricity reduction, overall physical health of the population, human kinetic energy and creating a healthier lifestyle and environment for all around can ripple into larger beneficial effects for the entire world.
How does it work? The CITYLIGHT’s central pole is the primary control panel, displays includes:
indicates if the LED lamp is being charged by human power
presents current battery status
encourages people to participate the green exercise
displays the calories burned
the duration of lighting contributed by individual’s exercise
could save a significant amount of public energy spending
Still in the conceptual stages of product design, this uplifting LED street lamp design has the possibilities for an urban revival!
